Olympus Stylus SP-100 Camera Features
ONE LENS. INFINITE VERSATILITY.
The bright plumage of a hummingbird. Your daughter’s first goal. A blazing guitar solo – note for note. Capturing super-sharp imagesand smooth Full 1080 60p HD video from a distance is as easy as point and shoot with the new Olympus Stylus SP-100. Innovative features include the world’s first dot sight for easier tele focusing, best-in-class sensor and image processing technology, an electronic viewfinder and control options usually found on high-end DSLRs. This is the camera you need if you love shooting sports, wildlife and concerts.
World’s First* On-Camera Dot Sight Simplifies Telephoto Shooting
The restricted field of view at full zoom makes it a challenge to locate and focus on the subject you want to capture – and when you’re shooting a fast-moving critter or the dancers on that stage w-a-a-a-y across the concert hall, time is of the essence. The Stylus SP-100 features the world’s first dot sight, a red light that is projected onto a glass panel under the flash to help you quickly and accurately position the camera on your subject when the lens is extended. The SP-100’s dot-sight helps you to easily track moving subjects (like a soccer game or a flying bird) and keep the subject in the frame by offering a wide-angle view of the scene on its semitransparent mirror. The dot-sight stows away for portability and pops up immediately without the need to adjust the zoom, so you never have to miss another image by having to retrace and compose.
From Wide Angle to Extreme Distances, This Lens Delivers
< Carrying multiple lenses to cover all shooting situations isn’t always feasible. With the SP-100 and its 50x zoom (24-1200mm equivalent), you don’t have to. This optically superior lens gives you the ideal zoom range, enabling you to capture anything from wide-angle panoramic views to long-distance close-ups with amazing sharpness and detail. You can even grab super-smooth Full HD videos (1080p 60p), whether you’re in Section ZZ or a duck blind at dawn.
An Electronic Viewfinder at This Price? Only with the SP-100
Sometimes you just want to shoot it old-school. With the SP-100’s EVF, you can adjust menu settings, review key image metrics (exposure, white balance, art filters) and, most important, compose the shot without taking your eye off the viewfinder, just like your dad did back in the day.
Full Exposure and Focus Control Maximize Your Options
With the Stylus SP-100, you’re in control. For quick shooting in telephoto mode, use the focus button (conveniently located right next to the zoom lever) to lock in the autofocus or activate either Manual Focus or the Focus Limit feature, which offers three AF modes: Aperture AF, Infinity AF and Close-up AF. You can also manually adjust exposure parameters like aperture and shutter speed to fine-tune your images.
Unprecedented Creative Tools in a Point-and-Shoot
Taking a cue from its big brother, the Stylus 1, the SP-100 incorporates seven Art Filters that make it easy for you to get creative. Effects like Grainy Film, Pin Hole and Soft Focus can be applied right in the camera to turn basic shots into evocative images. Also available are four Magic Filters (including Fish Eye and Sparkle) and five Picture Filters (among them Vivid, Muted and Monotone), which enable you to adjust color saturation.
Ban the Blur with Lens-shift Image Stabilization
Maybe your target – say, a beautiful dragonfly – is flitting around in stops and starts. Maybe your hands are a little shaky because you haven’t eaten anything since breakfast. Doesn’t matter the SP-100’s lens-shift image stabilization system, high ISO sensitivity and blink-of-an-eye shutter speeds work together seamlessly, enabling you to capture crisp, clear images even if the subject (or your camera) are moving.
