Nikon has officially announced the NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.4, a fast, normal prime lens for its Z-mount cameras that covers the versatile 50mm focal length. The US price of the Nikkor Z 50mm F1.4 lens is $499 and will start shipping in late September.

The new lens appears to be a close companion to the NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4, which was released just three months earlier in June. Both lenses share identical dimensions—87mm (3.4″) in length and 75mm (3″) in diameter. The NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.4 weighs 420g (14.8oz), making it only slightly heavier than the 35mm version.
