Sony Announced Three New APS-C Lenses : 11mm F/1.8, 15mm F/1.4 G & 10-20mm F/4 G
Sony has introduced three new wide-angle E-Mount APS-C lenses with one zoom lens and two primes. New Sony APS-c lenses are the 11mm F/1.8, 15mm F/1.4 G primes and 10-20mm F/4 G power zoom.
The new Sony E 10–20mm F4 PZ G lens is a compact power zoom lens with a constant F4 aperture. This new lens is the smallest ultra-wide APS-C zoom, is designed with hybrid shooters in mind.
These two primes offer full-frame equivalent focal lengths of approximately 17mm and 23mm, respectively, and feature incredibly small form factors, perfect for pairing with Sony’s new ZV-E10 and a6400 APS-C camera systems.
The three newest additions bring Sony’s E-mount lens family to a total of 70 different models, offering more options than ever for still, video, and hybrid content creators.

Sony E PZ 10-20mm F4 G
Sony’s new 10-20mm F4 PZ G lens offers an ultra-wide-angle zoom range at a constant F4 aperture. The lens is constructed of 11 elements in eight groups, including two extra-low dispersion (ED) element, three aspherical elements one ED Aspherical element. It offers a full-frame equivalent 15–30mm focal length range and has a minimum focusing distance of 13cm (5.1”) at the wide (10mm) end and 17mm (6.7”) at the tele (20mm) end, delivering 0.14x and 0.18x maximum magnification, respectively.
The lens weighs just 175g (6.2oz) and when paired with Sony’s ZV-E10 and Bluetooth remote grip (GP-VPT2BT), you can make an entire vlogging setup that weighs only 729g (25.7oz).
Sony’s E-mount 10–20mm F4 PZ G lens is expected to be available in early July 2022 for $749.99 / $949.99 CAD.
Sony E 15mm F1.4 G
This wide-angle prime features Sony’s ‘G-class’ label, denoting it as a ‘professional’ optic.
Internal autofocus is driven via a pair of linear motors, with Linear Response Manual Focus and minimized focus breathing. The aperture, which features a seven-blade aperture diaphragm, is controlled via the aperture ring, which can be clicked or de-clicked with the flip of a toggle on the lens.
Other features include weather-sealing, a minimum focusing distance of 17cm (6.7”) in manual focus mode – 20cm in AF – and a Focus Hold button that can be customized in-camera. Measurements come in at 66.6mm (2.6”) in diameter by 7cm (2.73”) long and a weight of 218g (7.7oz).
The Sony E 15mm F1.4 G will be available to pre-order starting tomorrow for $749.99 / $949.99 CAD. The first units are expected to ship in early July.
Sony E 11mm F1.8
This new ultra-wide-angle prime from Sony offers a roughly 17mm full-frame equivalent focal length and while it doesn’t have the ‘G-class’ label of its 15mm F1.4 counterpart, it still has plenty to offer for Sony APS-C shooters.
Like all of its APS-C lenses announced today, the 11mm F1.8 uses a pair of linear motors to drive the autofocus system. It has both a focus mode switch and Focus Hold button that can be customized in-camera and its minimum focusing distance is 15cm (5.9”) with manual focus; 17cm (6.7”) in AF.
Other features include a seven-blade aperture diaphragm and weather-resistance. As for measurements, the 11mm F1.8 comes in at 66mm (2.6in) diameter by 5.7cm (2.26”) long and weighs 178g (6.3oz).
The Sony E 11mm F1.8 will be available to pre-order starting tomorrow for $549.99 / $699.99 CAD. The first units are expected to ship in early July.
