Nikon D5600 and D3500 Cameras Marked as old Product

Nikon Japan is now listing the Nikon D5600 and D3500 DSLR cameras as “old products” which historically is an indication that these models are already or will soon be discontinued.

According to recent reports, Nikon plans to release two new DSLRs in 2021 along with several new F-mount lenses. If you are wondering if there is a new entry-level DSLR camera coming to update the D5600 / D3500 you have to wait for longer then expected.

It will be interesting to see what Nikon will bring for their future APS-c sensor DX-format line of DSLR cameras. For two reasons the company could wait and pass a year. One is they mainly focus on their Nikon Z cameras and lenses and the other one Nikon D3500 isn’t that old though, and it was a pretty minor refresh over the D3400. For this segment Nikon could wait and pass a year easily.

What we expect is that Nikon will announce Nikon D580 (successor of Nikon D500) and Nikon D880 (D850 successor) in 2021. Check out the expected specifications of Nikon D580 and Nikon D880.
