The 24-70’s image stabilizer can reduce shake by up to 5 stops, according to Canon. The lens weighs in at 900 grams and, like all ‘L’ lenses, is rugged and weather-sealed.

Dustin Abbott posted his exhaustive Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS review. The full in-depth review of the lens comes with a huge set of sample pictures, test charts and comparisons. From the conclusion:
It isn’t a perfect lens. It is expensive ($2299 USD), which will be the chief obstacle to many potentially interested customers. It’s also a bit heavy and is on the larger side, though the size isn’t unusual for this class of lens. There’s some barrel distortion at 24mm that is a bit complex, and the vignette is very heavy there as well. Fortunately both of these can be corrected for, but what the RF 24-70L has that some competitors do not is fantastic image sharpness across the frame even at F2.8. Add to this excellent autofocus, great stabilization, and fantastic handling, and you’ve got a pro-grade lens worth owning and using for many years. The Canon RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM was an important lens for Canon to get right, and I think that’s exactly what they’ve done.

The Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM L IS is the best fast standard zoom lenses that we tested to date. However, this doesn’t mean that it’s flawless – standard zoom lenses never are. In terms of resolution, the broader center zone is superbly sharp at all relevant aperture settings. The border quality is also on a very high level. The corner quality varies a bit though. Except for the sweet spot at 50mm, the corners are a tad soft at f/2.8. However, they have recovered nicely at f/5.6 latest. These days you tend to correct the secondary characteristic via image auto-correction. However, when analyzing the raw qualities, the results reveal a couple of issues. The vignetting is rather extreme at 24mm f/2.8 for instance – and that’s despite the very large front element. Complex image distortions are also quite obvious at 24mm and there are fairly visible pincushion distortions at 70mm. Lateral CAs are quite moderate albeit not zilch. The quality of the bokeh is very good as far as general rendition is concerned but not ideal with respect to out-of-focus highlights.

The Canon RF 24-70 mm f/2.8 L IS USM is the best standard zoom that Canon makes. Not only is the image quality certainly as good, if not better than, the EF version, it is also more versatile thanks to the excellent image quality and the extra multifunctional ring. Along with the 15-35 mm wide-angle zoom and the compact 70-200 mm telephoto zoom, Canon now offers image stabilization in all f/2.8 zooms in the R-system. That is something that Canon SLR users have been waiting for in vain, and it certainly justifies switching to the R system.
