Samyang will be the first non Canon manufacturer to build an autofocus lens for the Canon EOS R full frame mirrorless system. According to this the Samyang AF 14mm f/2.8 RF will be the first third party AF mirrorless lens for Canon EOS R.

The 14mm f/2.8 prime lens is great for cityscapes, landscapes, interiors, architecture, and other photography types that require a wide focal length.

The current AF 14mm f/2.8 EF lens designed for full frame cameras that delivers a quiet, fast and accurate autofocus system. The Samyang AF 14mm f/2.8 RF will also come with a lens station for firmware updates.

According to recent reports Samyang/Rokinon will announce a new AF 14mm f/2.8 full frame lens with autofocus for Canon RF mount.

The Canon version of the same lens is currently priced at $695. This will be Samyang’s first autofocus lens for Nikon and probably will have the same features. The optic offers a 35mm equivalent of 21mm for APS-c sensor cameras like EOS 90D.

The optical construction features a total of 15 lenses in 10 groups that include 7 special optic lenses to maximise image quality. The compact Samyang AF 14mm F2.8 EF weighs only 485g without lens caps and hood and also features weather-sealing and a built-in AF/MF switch.
