Sony a6400 Firmware Version 2.0 Released ! (Adds Real-time Eye AF for Animals)
Sony has released a new firmware update version 2.00 for the Sony Alpha A6400 mirrorless camera that enables Real-time Eye AF for animals.
This mode utilises Sony’s latest algorithm including Artificial Intelligence based object recognition and processes colour, subject distance (depth), pattern (brightness) as spatial information to ensure that all subjects can be captured with excellent accuracy.
On the other hand, when photographing or video capture of humans, face and eye position information is recognised by AI and the subjects eye is monitored in real time with extremely high tracking precision. This can be activated by a simple half press of the shutter button, or can be assigned to a custom function as well.

Changes in this Firmware:
- Adds real-time Eye AF for animals
NOTES:- Detecting human and animal eyes simultaneously is not supported
- Depending on the environment, animal type, and the movement of the animal, eye detection may not be possible
- Refer to the Help Guide for additional information on updated functions
- Adds support for the RMT-P1BT wireless remote commander (sold separately)
- Improves the overall stability of the camera
