Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/5.6E PF ED VR Lens to be Announced Next
Nikon is rumored to announce the AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens soon. Although the exact announcement date is unknown, we can say that the telephoto prime lens might become official sometime this Summer.
The new Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/5.6 PL lens has been significantly reduced compared to the existing 600mm f/4 version weighing 3.8kg and is expected to be more affordable. This lens will also be a compact lens similar as 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens (Amazon, B&H Photo Video, Adorama).
The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/5.6 PL lens, smaller and lighter companion when used with the Nikon D850, can already be said to be the ideal duo for many wildlife photographers.
According to dpreview forum user, some confirmations from NPS user occured that Nikon will soon announce a new AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens.
From dpreview:
“I met up with an NPS member today to lay hands on his 500PF. He had it on a D5, so it was quite back heavy. But I liked the weight and it’s clear that it would be better in tough conditions than the 500FL. When I told him I intended to stop on my way home and order one, he told me he had it on good authority that Nikon would be releasing the 600PF this summer.”
