Canon to Announce 7 new RF Lenses in 2019
Canon is rumored to announce seven new RF lenses for EOS R full frame mirrorless camera in 2019.
Canon full frame mirrorless camera enthusiasts can expect up to 7 new RF lenses being announced in 2019, though a few may not begin shipping until early 2020. As a result the company is planning to make the “holy trinity” for its RF lenses. As expected these lenses would be the 16-35mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8 and a 70-200mm f/2.8 with L designated versions.
RF L-series lenses represent the very best in optical technology with faster performance and a whole new level of quality.
7 new Canon RF Lenses Coming in 2019
EOS R is the first camera to feature the RF lens mount with a 12-pin connection, flange back distance of 20mm and a wide 54mm mount diameter enabling even greater flexibility in lens design. The first four Canon RF lenses are the RF 24-105mm f/4L USM, RF 28-70mm f/2L USM, RF 35mm f/1.8 M IS, RF 50mm f/1.2L USM. All four lenses have customizable control rings.
