Olympus PEN-F Mark II Registered, to be Announced in 2019
Olympus have registered a new PEN-F camera with an overseas government authority under the code name “2180“. This is probably the highly anticipated Olympus PEN-F Mark II camera.
This registration also means that the upcoming Olympus PEN-F Mark II MFT camera could be announced within a few months period. We already mentioned that the official Olympus E-M1X announcement will take place in the beginning of 2019 and the Micro Four Thirds shooter’s actual release slated for February. See the first images and features list for the OM-D E-M1X.
There is a little chance that we might see a new Olympus PEN-F along with the OM-D E-M1X camera in mid-January. Our guess would be the CP+ 2019 event in late February for Olympus PEN-F Mark II announcement. More details after the break!
Olympus PEN-F Mark II Camera Coming in 2019
Well, what’s new with the Olympus PEN-F camera, which is already great? Here are some predictions about the Olympus PEN-F Mark II. We know the first series already uses 20MP Four Thirds sensor and we do not expect any innovation in this section.
The most important update for the Olympus PEN-F Mark II, which will be the result of minor improvements, is likely to be on the image processor side. The company might upgrade the TruePic VI to TruePic VIII as in the same E-M1 Mark II. This will naturally increase the video shooting capacity of the new device.
So 60 fps Full HD 1080p Video Recording capable of PEN-F, with the new model to record video in 4K resolution. On the other hand, we can foresee that the continuous shooting speed of 10fps will increase.
