Canon RF Lens Roadmap for EOS R Camera
Here is the detailed Canon RF lens roadmap till year 2021. According to the report Canon full frame mirrorless camera system will have 4 lenses in 2018 and only three f/2.8 zoom lenses are listed for the 2019-2021 period.
EOS R is the first camera to feature the RF lens mount with a 12-pin connection, flange back distance of 20mm and a wide 54mm mount diameter enabling even greater flexibility in lens design. The first four Canon RF lenses are the RF 24-105mm f/4L USM, RF 28-70mm f/2L USM, RF 35mm f/1.8 M IS, RF 50mm f/1.2L USM.
Canon RF Lens Roadmap 2018-2021
As we know that latest Canon patent application is for RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS and RF 24-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM lenses. Our guesses for the RF zoom lenses with f/2.8 aperture are as follows.
- RF 14-24mm f/2.8L USM
- RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS
- RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM
2018:
- Canon RF 28-70mm f/2 L USM
- Canon RF 50mm f/1.2 L USM
- Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
- Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 MACRO IS STM
2019 -2021:
- Canon RF f/2.8 wide angle, standard and telephoto zoom lenses
