The lens will be equipped with a built-in 1.4x extender just like the latest Canon version. Nikon AF-S Nikkor 200-400mm f/4E FL ED VR lens is expected to be a full frame compatible E/FL zoom just like the new 70-200mm.
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 200-400mm f/4E FL ED VR lens to be announced in 2018
The new lens has been designed for Nikon DSLR cameras with full-frame sensors. It comes packed with a built-in vibrate reduction in order to reduce the effects of camera shakes.
Nikon AF-S Nikkor 200-400mm f/4E FL ED VR will be targeted to sports and action photographers. The release date of the lens should start before the 2018 FIFA World Cup that will take place in Russia from June 14th to July 15th, 2018.
The 200-400mm has been on the list of lenses that will get updated with a fluorite element (FL). We expect a reduced weight for this lens against its predecessor. Because the use of fluorite elements simplifies the optical design while increasing the image quality. Fluorine coating on the lens also protects the glass from dirt or all kinds of smudges.
For other Nikon products we expect the Nikon D760 DSLR and a new Nikon mirrorless camera in early 2018. Before that Nikon AF-S Nikkor 200-400mm f/4E FL ED VR lens is on the horizon. Stay tuned with us for more information.
