The Sigma 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM Art lens (Amazon, B&H, Adorama.com) is a super wide zoom lens Canon & Nikon DSLR cameras. It is much cheaper than Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM and priced between the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G and the Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 a good value at $1,599.
After tested on Canon EOS 5D Mark IV full-frame DSLR camera, DxOMark published their test results for Nikon F mount. Tested on the Nikon D800, the wide-angle zoom lens achieved an overall score of 25 points. From the review the optic performed an excellent result with a combination of 17 P-Mpix Sharpness, 4.6 TStop Transmission, 0.1% Distortion, -1.3 EV Vignetting and 6μm Chr.aberration.

The Sigma 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM Art was first announced on September 16th, 2016. This is widest zoom lens in their lineup and joins the companies list of Art lenses.

The Sigma 12-24mm F4 offers impressive optical performance at the short end of its focal range, with excellent AF performance. Unfortunately, central sharpness at all focal lengths, and overall sharpness at the tele end suffers relative to its best peers. […] If you’re looking for a wide-angle zoom with very nice performance from 12mm-16mm then this lens is an exceptional value.
It offers the equivalent angle of view as an 18-36 mm lens on an APS-C system (depending on the crop factor). The lens features 16 elements in 11 groups and the largest aspherical glass mold (80mm diameter) in the industry.

Image quality is excellent. Chromatic aberrations are well controlled, bokeh is pretty impressive despite the slow f/4 aperture and the wide-angle nature of the lens, and the Super Multi-Layer coating successfully prevents contrast loss attributable to flare. The only real optical issues are some vignetting, particularly at 12mm, obvious barrel distortion at the 12mm wide-angle focal length, and a slight lack of edge sharpness when shooting wide-open at f/4 throughout the zoom range.
Rounded 9 blade diaphragm creates an attractive blur to the out of focus areas of the image. It has a minimum focusing distance of 24cm / 9.4in and a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:4.9.
