Pentax M-E Mirrorless Camera Coming with APS-C Sensor

Ricoh Imaging is allegedly working on a new Pentax M-E mirrorless camera with APS-c size image sensor.

The information comes from a Japanese Magazine claiming that a potential Pentax M-E camera is on the horizon. This will not be Pentax’s first mirrorless camera. Ricoh announced the Q-Series mirror model back in 2011.

The Pentax Q was the world’s smallest mirrorless camera with a size of 1 / 2.3 “(6.17 x 4.55 mm). Ricoh’s Q camera followed the Q10, Q7 and Q-S1 models. More details after the break!

The original M-E model from Pentax were a classic 35mm camera which was announced back in late 1970. Apparently, Ricoh will re-create this retrospective M-E film camera in the form of APS-sensor to a mirrorless camera.

The design of the Pentax M-E camera will have a retro look like the Pentax MX-1. Among the new technologies it contains tiltable rear LCD, similar to that of the Pentax K-1.

The articles in Japanese magazines on upcoming cameras have not been very accurate in the past. We think that it would be a pretty good move for Pentax.
