The EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS replacement model is expected to be announced following the announcement and shipping of the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM lens. Considering the shipping of this lens some time in July than the announcement of the full-frame zoom lens at Photokina 2016 event makes sense.

The sources are claiming that the Canon 5D Mark IV announcement will include the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS replacement model.
