Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 II (VR) Lenses Coming Next

Nikon is rumored to update their current AF-S Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR lens with two new version.

According to sources, two new 70-300mm lens versions are on the horizon. One of them will feature vibrate reduction technology and the other one is coming without VR.

This lineup of 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens is a budget friendly model with an aperture range of f/4.5 to 5.6. It seems that Nikon will start offering VR and a non-VR models of their “cheaper” lenses.

Nikon to Update the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR Lens in 2016

World’s biggest digital imaging event Photokina 2016 will start in September in Cologne, Germany. So it is a big possibility that we might see new versions of 70-300mm II (VR) lenses around Photokina 2016.

In early 2016, the company has announced the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR and AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G lenses one with VR, one without VR. These were the first “AF-P” lenses for Nikon DSLR cameras, utilizing stepping motors to drive AF for fast and quiet autofocusing.

70-300mm telephoto zoom lens with f/4.5-5.6 maximum aperture features the VR (Vibration Reduction) technology that minimizes effects of camera shake to produce sharper images. It has Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements delivers super contrast and resolution performance and the Internal Focus (IF) system provides fast and quiet autofocusing; 4.9-feet close focus range.

Nikon might be thinking the same move on the cheaper telephoto zoom models. So we’ll see two versions with VR and non-VR models. Stay tuned for more information.
