Fujifilm XF 35mm f/1.4 APD Lens Could Be Released in The Future
Fujifilm XF 35mm f/1.4 APD lens is already developed and could be released on the market sometime in the future.
During an interview with Dc.Watch, a Fujifilm representative has revealed that the company has developed an XF 35mm f/1.4 lens with an apodization (APD) filter.
They recently interviewed three Fujifilm representatives, giving some information about the apodization filter found in the XF 56mm f/1.2 R APD lens. It appears that the company’s engineers have built XF 35mm f/1.4 APD lens, but they have eventually decided to go with a longer focal length.

The Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R APD is the world’s first AF lens with an apodisation filter for Fujifilm’s X-series compact system cameras. Even the interview does not say whether the lens will ever be released or not. Fuji users will certainly be happy to see XF 35mm f/1.4 APD.
If the lens becomes official it will offer a 35mm equivalent focal length of 65mm and has a maximum aperture of f/1.4. The apodisation filter will sure smooths the bokeh’s outlines. This combination of image sharpness and beautiful bokeh delivers portraits with a three-dimensional feel.
