Fujifilm X-M5 Price, Specs, and Release Date Announced at Fujifilm X Summit 2024

At the Fujifilm X Summit 2024, Fujifilm finally announced the highly anticipated Fujifilm X-M5, revealing its price, specifications, and release date.

The Fujifilm X-M5 uses the company’s last-generation 26MP X-Trans sensor, the same one found in cameras like the X-T4 and X-100V, but comes equipped with its latest processor, giving it access to Fujifilm’s AI-powered subject detection autofocus..

This compact camera weighs only 355g, making it the lightest model in the series to date. Despite its small size, the X-M5 is packed with high-performance features, including subject detection autofocus (AF) powered by AI and the ability to record 6.2K video at 30 frames per second, making it ideal for both still photography and video content creators.

For video creators, the X-M5 provides 6.2K/30P 4:2:2 10-bit video recording directly onto an SD card. Additionally, it offers 4K/60P and 1080/240P for slow-motion captures, with advanced digital image stabilization, making it a capable tool for videographers who need steady footage, even when on the move. The camera also features three built-in microphones, enabling users to customize audio capture according to their needs, whether shooting vlogs or cinematic content. Furthermore, a new 9:16 short movie mode simplifies vertical video recording, ideal for social media.

The Fujifilm X-M5 is set to be released in November 2024, with a starting price of $799 for the body only. This makes it a competitive option for enthusiasts and professionals looking for a high-performance, compact mirrorless camera. Fujifilm is also selling a kit with the X-M5 and its XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens for $899.
