Sigma 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary Lens Coming for Fujifilm X Mount
According to latest Fujifilm rumors, Sigma will announce an X-mount version of the 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary lens.
The lens is expected to go on sale this year. Adapting full-frame lenses for cameras with APS-C format sensors, such as the Tamron 150-500mm F5-6.7, is not a new approach.
The X-mount already has an original XF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 lens, but it costs $1,899. The Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS Lens is already available in Canon EF and Nikon F mounts for $799, so we expect the Fujifilm X-mount version will also be priced at $799.
This is a telephoto zoom within Sigma‘s Contemporary series that blends both a refined optical design with a compact and lightweight physical construction. The lens construction utilizes four SLD glass elements to noticeably reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range for improved clarity and color accuracy, and a Super Multi-Layer Coating has also been applied to increase contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. The lens sports a Hyper Sonic Motor to produce quick, smooth, and quiet autofocus performance with full-time manual focus override.
This Sigma 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 DG DN OS Contemporary LensX mount will be very popular when it is released.
Stay tuned for more information.
