New Firmware V2.1 for Sony a7S III & V1.3 for Sony a1 Released
New Sony firmware updates released for Alpha A7s III and A1 cameras. Firmware version 1.3 for Sony a1 full-frame mirrorless camera brings 8K 4:2:2 10-bit video recording and Lossless Compressed Raw capture for stills.
Firmware version 2.1 for Sony’s a7S III camera also adds the ability to record proxy footage while operating the cameras remotely via computer. The update also promises improvements to Eye AF performance, but Sony hasn’t specified what changes in specific have been made.

Benefits and Improvements
- Allows you to select M and S sizes in addition to L when using the RAW recording lossless compression method
- Adds the 4:2:2 10bit selection when shooting XAVC HS 8K
