Canon EOS R7 will be an APS-C format RF mount mirrorless camera and it is already undergoing testing in the wild by a select group of photographers. Here are the first Canon EOS R7 specs within the rumor mill.
What is not yet known is whether Canon will release some special RF-S lenses for a new APS-C RF Mount camera. This is a big question because the company did the same thing for DSLRs back in 2003 for the EF lens range with a range of EF-S variants that were specifically designed for cameras with smaller, APS-C image sensors.
Anyway take this with a grain o salt and check out the first rumored specifications of the upcoming Canon EOS R7 APS-C format mirrorless camera:
Rumored Canon EOS R7 Specs
- 32.5MP APS-C CMOS Sensor
- 12 fps continuous shooting
- IBIS – Sensor-Shift 5-Axis Image Stabilization
- UHD 4K video at 30p and 25p with no crop / full width
- 3.0″ rear touchscreen flips up by 180° or down by 45°
- Body design identical to the EOS R6
- New Battery
Camera companies test several prototypes of a flagship camera before it becomes official. Canon also has two prototypes of sensors including 45MP APS-C and 20MP APS-C CMOS models. So, we have to wait to see which Camera body finally gets approved for the production line.
Canon EOS R7 is said to be the successor and could be the real replacement for the aging EOS 7D Mark II. Canon discontinued the Canon 7D series a while ago, and for now, Canon 90D holds the king of Canon APS-C flagship DSLR Camera.
