50MP Sony a9 with 8K Video Rumored for Early 2021
Sony is rumored to announce a 50MP Sony a9 with 8K Video in Early 2021. According to recent reports, Sony is actively developing a new Sony a9 full-frame mirrorless camera that could be a possible “Canon R5 Killer”. This new camera will feature a 50MP sensor and it will either be called the Sony a9S or the Sony a9 III.
This will be a new, top of the line and very expensive pro mirrorless camera with 8K video recording. The full frame 8K E-mount mirrorless camera is expected to arrive in early 2021 just before the Tokyo Olympics 2021 in Summer.
The body of this rumored 50MP Sony A9 will be similar to the Sony a7S III, but the camera’s much higher resolution sensor and thermal design will allow it to shoot 8K/30p video “without overheating”. According to latest rumors the US price for this camera will at around $5,999. Below are the rumored specs of the 50MP Sony a9 camera (A9s, A9x, A9 III):
