Canon EOS R6 And EOS R5 Announcement Scheduled for June 2020
So it looks like we are going to meet Canon’s next generation mirrorless cameras next month? The two cameras on the horizon that are Canon EOS R6 and EOS R5 announcement scheduled for June 2020.
It’s very likely that Canon had to postpone the EOS R5 announcement because of the global pandemic. However, looks like it is the time that the EOS R5 announcement will happen soon, along with the EOS R6 and several lenses. June 2020 appears to be the month when Canon will eventually unveil their new game-changer mirrorless camera, the Canon EOS R5.
We already know that Canon EOS R5 will be the 5D series Equivalent for Mirrorless. The new EOS R5 will be able to record 8K video at 30p with no crop. The Canon EOS R5 is now listed at Adorama and B&HPhoto.
Canon EOS R5 Rumored Specifications:
- 8K RAW internal video recording up to 29.97 fps
- 8K internal video recording up to 29.97 fps in 4:2:2 10-bit Canon Log (H.265)/4:2:2 10-bit HDR PQ (H.265).
- 4K internal video recording up to 119.88 fps in 4:2:2 10-bit Canon Log (H.265)/4:2:2 10-bit HDR PQ (H.265). 4K external recording is also available up to 59.94 fps.
- No crop 8K and 4K video capture using the full-width of the sensor.*
- Dual Pixel CMOS AF available in all 8K and 4K recording modes.
- Canon Log available in 8K and 4K internal recording modes.
- A Canon first, the EOS R5 will feature 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilization, which works in conjunction with Optical IS equipped with many of the RF and EF lenses.
- Dual-card slots: 1x CFexpress and 1x SD UHS-II.

- Build quality not as good as the EOS R5
- New battery
- To be announced in July 2020
