Nikon Z8 and Nikon D880 to Feature the Same 60MP Sensor

Rumors suggest that both the upocoming Nikon Z8 and Nikon D880 full frame cameras will feature the same 60MP Sony IMX455 sensor. According to latest reports, Nikon will announce a new high-end/professional Z-mount full frame mirrorless camera in late 2020 and the D850 replacement in early 2021.

We expect these two models to be released at the end of the year to be Nikon Z8 and Nikon D880 (expected product name for D850 replacement). While both the Nikon D850 and Nikon Z7 sit nicely with the 45.7MP sensor, this will be a major upgrade to both camera systems and will probably please photographers who are always looking for more megapixel power.

Apart from the Sony’s 60MP full frame sensor, Nikon Z8 will also have dual SD and CFexpress card slots just like the Canon’s EOS R5. The high-end mirrorless Z camera will be announced before the Nikon D850 replacement.
