Nikon has released an N-Log 3D lookup table (LUT) for use when color grading footage captured with N-Log gamma on its D780 DSLR. The company also releases two other fw updates. Check it out.
The updated download is version 1.01, an update from version 1.00, which only offered the N-Log 3D LUT for Nikon’s Z6 and Z7 mirrorless camera systems. Version 1.01 includes the original Z6 and Z7 3D LUT files as well as the new cube-format 3D LUT file for the Nikon D780.
The Nikon D780 is a DSLR with a 24 Megapixel full-frame sensor, uncropped 4k video with autofocus, 7fps burst shooting through the optical viewfinder and a tilting touchscreen. The camera is a replacement for one of the most well-rounded DSLRs ever made: the D750 (see comparison). Nikon D780 ($2,296.95 – at B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon).

Nikon N-Log 3D LUT firmware version 1.01 (the N-Log 3D LUT is a 3D lookup table developed by Nikon for use when color grading movie footage shot with N-Log gamma):
- Added an N-Log–compatible “cube”-format 3D LUT file for the D780.
Nikon KeyMission 170 firmware update 1.4 contains one fix:
- When users attempted to pair the camera with the smart device using the SnapBridge 360/170 under iOS 13, pairing would end in failure and a message to that effect would be displayed.
Nikon also released new firmware update 1.4 for the Coolpix A300 camera.
