Canon has filed two new patents for RF mount superzoom lenses with f/2.8 bright aperture. The patent application describes the Canon RF 24-85mm f/2.8L and RF 24-100mm f/2.8L lenses designed for the company’s full frame EOS R system.
The Canon RF 24-85mm f/2.8 lens will be a consumer oriented glass and the focal range is ideal for travel photography. Canon previously filed several RF superzoom lens patents. These lenses are the Canon RF 24-300mm f/4-5.6 Lens, Canon RF 24-170mm f/4 Lens, Canon RF 28-135mm f/4 Lens, Canon RF 28-280mm f/2.8 Lens.

RF 24-85mm f/2.8:

RF 24-100mm f/2.8:
- Focal length: 24.70 50.00 101.85 mm
- F number: 2.91 2.91 2.91
- Half angle of view: 41.22 23.40 11.99
- Image height: 21.64 21.64 21.64 mm
- Lens length: 158.52 176.33 218.42 mm
- Back focus: 10.00 26.38 43.15 mm
