The most exciting lens Nikon Z-mount is the upcoming NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S NOCT lens for sure. According to recent reports the fast and bright prime Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct will have a price tag of $7,996.95. Nikon claims the lens will have the ‘highest rendering performance’ and ‘flawless transitions’ between in- and out-of-focus areas, and will be manual focus only.
Previous reports suggests that the goal of the new Nikon Z Noct Nikkor 58mm f/0.95 lens is to beat the Zeiss Otus performance. As a result the upcoming Noct is more of a proof of concept for Nikon to show what this mount could do in terms of image quality and speed.
NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens will be officially announced on October 10th along with Nikon Z 50.
Nikon has serious plans for the next three years of Z-mount lenses. According to the Nikon Z-Nikkor lens roadmap, they will release six lenses in 2020 and eight in 2021. This will make the lineup a total of 20 lenses for Nikon Z-mount.
NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens will use ultra-high refractive index aspherical elements, a new ARNEO anti-reflection coating and its physical design will feature a small display panel that will display aperture, focal length and depth-of-field.
