Canon has filed a new patent in Japan. The new application is for a Canon Ef 10mm f/2.8L wide-angle lens designed for full frame DSLR cameras.
This lens looks like a replacement candidate for the current EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM lens. Note that this is not a fish-eye lens!
If the lens becomes available into production, it will be the widest prime lens for Canon full frame DSLR cameras. See the patent details below.
