Sharp announced the development of the 8K Micro Four Thirds camera at CES 2019 event. The camera spotted by Kinotika and they published a video on Youtube about this (see below).
This is an exciting news because there is no M43 sensor on the market that’s capable of true 8k (7680×4320) resolution. According to the first specs, the Sharp 8K Micro Four Thirds camera will be able to record 8k videos at 30fps in H.265 codec.
A prototype of the Sharp MFT camera can be found below. Full specs and price information of this camera will be available in Q2 of 2019. Check out the first image of the Sharp 8k Micro Four Thirds camera and the related video from CES 2019.
From the Dpreview Forum:
The body on it looks a lot like the BMPCC4K, and even has similar ports on the left side of the camera. However it has a huge 5″ flip out screen.
