Olympus 150-400mm PRO Lens Rumored to be in Development
Olympus is rumored to be working on a new 150-400mm PRO lens that could join the PRO series as weather sealed optic for Micro Four Thirds cameras.
As MFT uses know the Olympus PRO lenses are high-quality lenses that provide a higher optical quality than usual and they have a price to match. The first of the series is the 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO lens, while the 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO lens released later in 2014. Shortly after that, the 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO and 300mm f/4 PRO lenses became available, too.
According to a new source, Olympus would be developing yet another PRO lens: the super telephoto zoom 150-400mm PRO. More details and speculation about the price and aperture after the break!

Olympus 150-400mm PRO Lens Rumored to be in the Works
Even if there are rumors that the Olympus 150-400mm PRO lens has been in the works, the aperture range is not yet clear. Sure an f/4 constant aperture at the 400mm tele end would be exciting. Also if it will be a “PRO” lens generally we see constant aperture numbers like f/2.8 or f/4.
Our guess that if such a lens goes out on the market than an aperture range between f/3.5 – 4.5 will be enough. Olympus could make it comaptible with 1.4 teleconverter and this will make the lens have a reasonable size. These specs will make its price fit between $2,500 and $4,000. On the other hand faster than f/5.6 this lens will become really expensive.
When mounted on Micro Four Thirds cameras, the Olympus 150-400mm PRO lens will offer a 35mm focal length equivalent of 300-800mm.
