Canon is #1 in Japan for mirrorless cameras in 2018
Canon has taken the lead and now No.1 in Japan for mirrorless camera sales. According to new data published by BCN Ranking for the first half of 2018, Canon overtakes Olympus and is #1.
Olympus was the #1 mirrorless camera maker in 2017 with 27.7%, but in 2018 Canon passes and takes the lead. The report also shows Canon leading the DSLR market with 58.9% share, while Nikon is top for fixed-lens cameras at 31%.
In the fixed-lens camera segment Nikon is now at #1 spot with a market share of 31% (Canon is now at the #2 spot). More details after the break!

In other categories, Panasonic leads the video camera segment with 44.1% marketshare, while GoPro is the No. 1 action camera maker by some margin, claiming 72.9% marketshare in Japan.
