What to Expect from Nikon in 2018
Here is an updated list of the product expectations of Nikon in 2018. Nikon is expected to announce at least three new cameras and two new lenses.
We told about the cameras we were expecting from Nikon as three because a full-frame mirrorless camera could be a development announcement rather than an official announcement. In the past 12 months, Nikon has announced only one camera and it is the high-megapixel, high speed Nikon D850 DSLR.
The rumored cameras especially for Photokina 2018 are the Nikon D3500, Nikon D760 and the replacement of Nikon COOLPIX P900. Rumored Nikon lenses are the AF-S NIKKOR 600mm f/5.6 PF and new Nikon 60mm Macro Lens.
Nikon D3500, D760, COOLPIX P1000 and Two Lenses
The beginners who need a DSLR camera with great image quality in compact sizes, the APS-c sensor based Nikon D3500 model will be ideal for their needs. As a side note D3300 is a #1 product sold in Amazon for a long time.
Nikon D760 DSLR
Nikon D750 full frame DSLR still sells very good and costs $1,796.95 at Amazon. Sitting between the more affordable D610 and the pro-grade, high-resolution D810, the rumor mill claims the upcomig Nikon D760 coming also this year.
Replacement of Nikon P900
With an 83x, 24-2000mm equivalent lens, the Nikon Coolpix P900 is the undisputed king of the superzooms. We think the new model will also feature and improve IS tech in previous models. The superzoom camera will feature a 125x optical zoom. Taking the crop factor into consideration, the lens will provide a focal range equivalent of approximately 24-3000mm.
Nikon Full Frame Mirrorless Camera
Nikon full frame mirrorless camera is rumored to be in the works at a ‘Rapid Pace’. Recent reports indicates that the PRO-grade mirrorless camera will be released in the current fiscal year.
