Tamron 300mm f/2.8, 400mm f/4 and 500mm f/4 Lens Patents
Lens manufacturer Tamron has filed a patent for what looks like an interesting super telephoto-prime lens to add to its growing collection of fixed focal length lenses. The company appears to be developing a 300mm f/2.8, 400mm f/4 and 500mm f/4 super telephoto lens that will come with Tamron’s Vibration Compensation system built in.
Three different optical formulas have appeared in the same patent application from Tamron. According to patents, these lenses will be available for Canon-EF and Nikon F-mount. The Canon 400mm f/4 DO IS II costs around $6,899 and the bright Nikon 400mm f/2.8 lens is over $10,000 bucks. For Canon DSLR users there would be a cheaper option if the company unveils a non-DO version.
The price for these Tamron 300mm f/2.8, 400mm f/4 and 500mm f/4 super telephoto prime lenses will be cheaper than Canon and Nikon versions.
