Sony FE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens Release Date Scheduled for September 2018

Sony will release a new FE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens sometime in September 2018 with Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization. 

The official announcement of the bright telephoto prime lens will be in Summer 2018. According to B&H listing, the shipping date of the lens or expected availabiliy will be at Photokina 2018.

With the FE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens, Sony is targeting professional sports, wildlife, and news photographers who need incredibly sharp and fast glass to capture fast moving and elusive subjects.

Sony FE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens Release Date in September 2018

Sony FE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens will be compatible with Sony FE 1.4X and 2X Teleconverters. The lens will give a 600mm equivalent, in 35mm equivalent terms, when used on Sony’s APS-C cameras such as the Sony A6500.

Sony already announced development of the new FE 400mm f/2.8 G Master OSS lens for Sony full-frame E mount cameras.

The new lens will feature the incredible high-resolution and spectacular beautiful bokeh of Sony’s acclaimed line of flagship G Master™ series lenses, while also offering a far-reaching 400mm focal length and F2.8 large aperture. This combination will deliver a new elevated shooting experience for all professional sports, news and wildlife photographers looking to capture all of the decisive moments with higher image quality.
