Panasonic Leica DG 50-200mm F/2.8-4 lens coming next
Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 50-200mm f/2.8-4 ASPH Power OIS will be the next lens in the lineup. Official announcement is expected to happen at CES 2018 event.
The Swedish website Fotosidan published their review of the new Panasonic G9 camera ($1,698) and they confirmed that the next lens from Panasonic will be the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 50-200mm f/2.8-4 ASPH Power OIS.
This will be the Panasonic’s 10th premium lens after the Leica DG Elmarit 200mm f/2.8 POWER O.I.S. lens ($2,998). Here are more details of the upcoming Panasonic Leica DG 50-200mm F/2.8-4 lens.
Panasonic Leica DG 50-200mm F/2.8-4 lens might be announced at CES 2018
Actually this telephoto zoom optic is claimed to be announced with the Panasonic G9 in late 2017. We think the company decided to first unveil the 200mm and postpone this zoom model to the beginning of 2018.
The lens was first displayed at the 2016 Photokina show. It has been under development for a while and one of the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit F2.8-4 premium lenses. The trio of Leica DG lenses consists of 8-18mm wide-angle, 12-60mm standart zoom and 50-200mm telephoto zoom. All these lenses will provide f/2.8 and f/4 aperture through out the zoom range.
Panasonic Leica DG 50-200mm F/2.8-4 lens provides 100-400mm focal length in 35mm camera equivalent. It will be offered in sharp, metallic black color.
