Good news! The previously rumored Canon EOS 7D Mark III camera to fetaure illuminated buttons. The company is planning to unveil the flagship APS-c sensor DSLR in the first half of 2018.
Canon has filed a patent that shows illuminated buttons appearing on the back of a prosumer DSLR camera. The patent application shows a very detailed description on how Canon would add the illuminated buttons on a 5D or 7D series camera.
Illuminated Buttons lights up at the turn of a dial increase visibility and allow easy shooting at night or in low-light scenarios. We already see this on Nikon D850 full frame DSLR camera.
Canon 7D Mark III to Feature illuminated Buttons
So we expect the Canon EOS 7D Mark III DSLR camera will get illuminated buttons, which is rumored to be announced sometime in the first half of 2018. The successor to the EOS 7D Mark II might arrive at CP+ 2018. But our guess the EOS 7D Mark III announcement will be after the CP+ 2018 and before the NAB 2018 (opens its doors in April).
The leaked Canon 7D Mark III specs list concludes with a 12fps continuous shooting mode and tilting touchscreen on the back. More details about the specs can be found in our What to Expect from Canon 7D Mark III Camera? article. Stay tuned with us for more information.
