Nikon is rumored to announce a new AF-S Nikkor 28mm f/1.4 lens in the next few days period.
The company has a great selection of prime lenses with a maximum aperture of f/1.4, including the 35mm and 50mm units. The new Nikon 28mm f/1.4 lens will be an excellent addition to this line-up.
Although the rumor mill doesn’t give information about the compatibility, we think the upcoming AF-S NIKKOR 28mm f/1.4G ED will be for Nikon full-frame DSLRs.
Nikon rumored to announce a new Nikkor 28mm f/1.4 lens
The new AF-S Nikkor 28mm f/1.4G ED would be ideal for photographers who are mostly shooting architecture, street, landscape, and indoor photos. Its bright aperture will ensure that photos turn out perfectly even in low-light conditions.
Sure the f/1.4 aperture will allow photographers to capture beautiful portraits with silky bokeh that is pleasant to the eye by separating the subject from the background in a smooth fashion.
Just like the most of the company’s recent primes, the wide-angle optic should be covered in Nano Crystal Coat to reduce reflections causing ghosting and flare.
So how much will this new Nikon 28mm f/1.4 lens cost? The current Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28mm f/1.8G lens costs $696.95 at Amazon. We think the upcoming 28mm focal length with a fast aperture of f/1.4 should be priced over $1,000.
In addition to the Nikon D820 and Nikon D760 DSLR cameras, the company is working on new lenses. Nikon 28mm f/1.4 will be one of them. Stay tuned with us for more information.
