What is next from Canon? Trusted sources have revealed that the next L-designed prime lens from Canon will be the aforementioned EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM.

Following the introduction of the EF-S 35mm F/2.8 Macro IS STM lens, the rumor mill has revealed that Canon is developing another lens with a brighter aperture. The product in question has been said to be a new addition to the lineup.

It is being said that the EF 85mm f/1.4L IS will not the EF 85mm f/1.2L II lens replacement.

The EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM from Canon will have improved optics inside and the elements used in the construction include the the blue spectrum refractive design. The mid-range telephoto prime lens is expected to have a weather-sealed design as well as new manual and autofocus system.

The National Association of Broadcasters is one of the biggest annual events when it comes to cinematography, filmmaking, broadcasting, and television. At this show, a lot of digital imaging companies are revealing their newest video-centric products, including cameras, camcorders, lenses, and accessories.

The 2017 edition of the NAB Show will begin on April 22 and ends on 27h. Along with the EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM lens, Canon is expected to announce a new cinema zoom lens and a big firmware update for the EOS 5D Mark IV camera.
