The first rumors about the Olympus TG-5 rugged compact camera began to take place on the internet.
According to trusted sources, the ruggedized camera will have basically the same TG-4 specs with additional 4K video recording capability.
So outdoor and action photographers should not expect any major changes when compared to the TG-4. More buzz after the break!
Olympus TG-5 to record 4K capable videos
The Olympus TG-4 features a 16-megapixel 1/2.3-inch-type image sensor and a TruePic VII processor. The camera comes with sensor-shift image stabilization to minimize camera shake effects.
You can use the current model in 15 meters / 50 feet underwater or where the temperatures drop down to -10 degrees Celsius / 14 degrees Fahrenheit.. The TG-5 will be the same and it will have similar shockproof and waterproof ratings.
We know how well the TG-4 is a rugged camera. Let’s look at what features the TG-5 series will add besides 4K video recording.
The exact date of the announcement is unknown at the moment. We expect the Tough TG-5 to become available this spring, just in time for summer vacations.
