Sony FE 400mm f/4.0 Lens Rumored for Q2 of 2017

Sony is rumored to announce a new telephoto-prime lens designed for full-frame E-mount cameras. The product in question is the FE 400mm f/4.0 lens which is scheduled to arrive in second quarter of 2017.

Sony’s product range for full-frame mirrorless cameras continues to grow every year. The Japan-based company is working on the Sony A7 Mark III while at the same time thinking about adding a new telephoto model to the lineup.

As a result the rumor mill is in talks of a FE 400mm f/4.0 lens. Both the Sony A7III and the new E-mount lens expected to arrive in Summer of 2017. More details after the break!

Sony’s full-frame E-mount lens already features the FE 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens. But there is a lack of a super telephoto model in the current product range. Of course, when it comes to wildlife photography, the existing E-mount lenses shows that the native lenses may be inadequate.

The Sony FE 400mm f/4.0 which is used in this stage, is especially important when it is used with the 1.4X teleconverter, so the system is suitable for wildlife photography. On the other hand, we believe that an FE 100-400mm model will be more suitable for a full-frame E-mount lens system. Now let’s look at some of the first information for the Sony A7III mirrorless camera.
