Panasonic LEICA DG 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 lens becomes official
Panasonic has announced the new LEICA DG 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 standart zoom lens. The lens was first shown at Photokina 2016, and now unveiled at CES 2017 event.
This is the first in the series of the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit F2.8-4 premium models that reaches the market. MFT lens offers a focal length equivalent to 24-120mm on a Micro Four Thirds cameras. Reduces camera shake with the support of Panasonic’s Dual IS system on compatible bodies.
The Panasonic LEICA DG 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 lens will be available in metallic black options. It will start shipping in late March with a price of $999.

Panasonic Announces LEICA DG 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 lens
The construction of the lens consists of 14 elements in 12 groups and offers a nine-blade aperture. The lens system features four aspherical and two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glasses. So the optic suppress spherical distortion or chromatic aberration to achieve stunning picture quality.
The LEICA DG 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 lens achieves exceptionally high descriptiveness for both photo and video recording. The lens boast a rugged, dust/splash-proof design with a freeze-proof down to -10℃.

The new LEICA DG 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 lens offers a versatile 5x zoom range of 24-120mm. It fully covers a variety of daily shooting situations, from dynamic landscapes to portraits even in low-lit situations, providing a beautiful defocus effect by taking advantage of the F2.8-4.0 high-speed performance.
The LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT F2.8-4.0 Series lineup will expand with additional lenses. An 8-18mm (16-36mm, 35mm camera equivalent) wide zoom lens and 50-200mm (100-400mm, 35mm camera equivalent) telephoto zoom lens are presently under development.
Offered in sharp, metallic black color, the new LEICA DG 12-60mm F2.8-4.0 lens stylishly matches the LUMIX G DSLM cameras.
