Panasonic is allegedly working on more MFT zoom lenses. Three new Leica DG f/2.8-4.0 lenses for MFT cameras are expected to arrive in 2017.
It is said that the company will put a lot more effort into its lens systems, most likely on the zoom models. The most important thing is that the all three models will have a aperture range between f/2.8 and f/4.
On the other hand the Panasonic GH5 release date is scheduled for early January. Even the text is now removed, B&H had a listing that the GH5 pre-orders will start at 1 pm on January 4th, 2017. The hybrid mirrorless camera will be the first to shoot 4K/60p and 10bit 4:2:2 internally with DCI 4K video recording at up to 60 fps.
Panasonic Roadmap Unveils Three new Leica DG f/2.8-4.0 MFT zoom lenses
Panasonic will focus on lenses in 2017. Most of them will be aimed at the high-end camera. The trio of Leica DG lenses consists of 8-18mm wide-angle, 12-60mm standart zoom and 50-200mm telephoto zoom models. As mentioned above all these lenses will provide f/2.8 and f/4 aperture through out the zoom range.
- 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 standard zoom lens (expected 2016)
- 8-18mm f/2.8-4.0 wide zoom lens (expected 2017)
- 50-200mm f/2.8-4.0 telephoto zoom lens (expected 2017)
