Sigma 85mm F1.4 Art lens to be announced soon
Sigma 85mm F1.4 ART lens is rumored to be the next full-frame prime model and expected to arrive at Photokina 2016 event this September.
Trusted sources are reporting that the Japan-based company is already working on its next models. It is being said that the Sigma 85mm F1.4 Art model is currently in testing by selected photographers in the field.
If becomes true than the current Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM lens will be replaced by a new Art-series model at Photokina 2016 event.
Sigma 85mm F1.4 Art Lens To Be Announced at Photokina 2016
It is rumored that the Japanese manufacturer will introduce a 135mm Art model before the 85mm version. The Sigma 85mm F1.4 Art will probably be the next optic which would be launched for multiple full frame camera mounts. Because Sigma thinks 85mm focus length has a better sale.
The lens would be ideal for low-light and portrait photography with its bright maximum aperture of f/1.4. It will be added to the ART-series prime models such as the 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM, 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM, and the 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM.
The old Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM lens currently priced around $1,000 and is rumored to be replaced by a new Art-series model which will compete against the Zeiss Otus 85mm f/1.4 and the Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4G lenses.
Either way, it is highly likely that we will see an official Sigma 85mm F1.4 Art announcement in the following few months, probably at Photokina 2016 event in September. So stay tuned for more details!
