Canon EF 200-600mm f/4.5-5.6 IS lens price leaked

More information about the EF 200-600mm f/4.5-5.6 IS lens have now leaked on the web including its announcement date and price.

Canon will reportedly unveil a super-telephoto zoom optic without an L-designation and it is expected become available in 2016.

Canon’s next super-telephoto zoom lens is coming this summer probably at Photokina 2016 event will start in September. As mentioned earlier this product will also become available in the market for a lower price than the existing EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens.

The upcoming Canon EF 200-600mm f/4.5-5.6 IS lens will not be L-designated, which means that it will be affordable and lightweight solution for action and sports photographers.

Canon’s L-series lenses known as more durable, incorporating dust-resistant and water-resistant rubber seal and contains optics of higher quality, with many lenses containing fluorite or ultra-low dispersion glass elements, ground aspherically. The lens will compete directly with the Tamron and Sigma super telephoto zoom models.

The maximum aperture of the super-telephoto zoom lens is not very fast but features built-in image stabilization technology. The sealing will not be dust and water proof.

The EF lens from Canon will be designed for full-frame sensor DSLRs, but it will also be compatible with APS-C-sized models too. According to the trusted sources, the Canon EF 200-600mm f/4.5-5.6 IS lens price will stand at $1,700.
