Panasonic has released firmware updates for five of its Micro Four Thirds (MFT) lenses, adding support for the Dual IS technology introduced in the Lumix DMC-GX8 camera.
The new firmware version 1.1 is available for the Leica DG Macro-Elmarit 45mm F2.8 Macro ASPH Mega O.I.S., Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 ASPH Power O.I.S., Lumix G Vario HD 12-32mm F3.5-5.6 Mega O.I.S. and Lumix G Vario 35-100mm F4.0-5.6 ASPH Mega O.I.S. as well as version 1.2 for the Lumix G Vario 45-150mm F4.0-5.6 ASPH Mega O.I.S. lenses.
Panasonic’s Dual I.S system uses both the GX8’s body I.S and lens I.S together for improved image stabilization, ‘achieving a more powerful handshake correction,’ according to Panasonic.
Dual I.S Firmware upgrade announced for LUMIX G Lenses [1]
Panasonic is pleased to announce a firmware upgrade for five of its LUMIX G lenses to make them compatible with the new Dual I.S technology introduced in the DMC-GX8.
The firmware upgrade is available for the following lenses:
- H-ES045 Ver.1.0→Ver.1.1
- H-FS45150 Ver.1.1→Ver.1.2
- H-FS12032 Ver.1.0→Ver.1.1
- H-FS35100 Ver.1.0→Ver.1.1
- H-HS043 Ver.1.0→Ver.1.1
Panasonic’s DMC-GX8’s Dual I.S (Image Stabiliser) system combines the Body I.S and Lens I.S working at the same time to take maximum advantage of both stabilizers together. Achieving a more powerful handshake correction, Dual I.S provides consistently blur-free images, from wide-angle right through to telephoto shooting, even in low-lit situations.
There are now eleven Dual I.S compatible lenses, providing photographers with more choice and more shooting situations that can benefit from consistently blur-free images.
