In addition to the D5 flagship DSLR, Nikon is once again rumored to announce a new high-end compact camera in the beginning of 2016.
According to latest rumors, the company to announce a new premium digital compact camera with a 1-inch-type or APS-c sized sensor and more than one version is also a possibility.
The rumor mill in talks of three different models could be introduced and these models could have different lenses. A Nikon premium compact shooter with 1-inch sensor is previously rumored with the names like COOLPIX P700 and COOLPIX P8000.
New High-End Nikon Compact Camera Rumored for early 2016
It’s not clear if this high-end compact series will be the successor of Nikon Coolpix A camera (pictured above) with APS-C sensor.
The new high-end Nikon compact camera(s) will be marketed as “always in your bag” and will be targeted for advanced/semi-professional photographers.
The official announcement for the Nikon D5 FX-format DSLR camera expected at CES 2016 or at CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2016 in early January. So we might see these compact models in near future.
