Leica S Typ 007 Firmware Update Version 2.0.0.1 Released
November 26, 2015 – Leica Camera has released a new firmware update for the Leica S (Typ 007) camera. Registered camera users can now login to the Leica owner’s area of the Leica Website (www.owners.leica-camera.com) and download the firmware update, version 2.0.0.1, or take their camera to a Leica Store for a free update where they’ll receive support for any questions they may have on the updating process.
The new firmware update improves autofocus, speed and precision, particularly in low ambient light, ensuring consistently reliable and precise focusing – even in unfavorable light conditions. In addition to this, firmware version 2.0.0.1 offers optimized white balance with manually entered color temperature values (kelvin) to ensure more precise skin-tone rendition when shooting with the flash.
Leica S (Typ 007) owners can also download an update for the Leica Image Shuttle 3.1 dedicated workflow software and the Adobe Lightroom tethered shooting plug-in. The OS X version of Leica Image Shuttle 3.1 for Mac is now available and the version for the Windows operating system will be available in the near future. The Leica S app from the Apple Store allows the remote control of Live View, autofocus and all other exposure-relevant camera controls from an iPhone or iPad. The app also enables browsing of collections of images and offers an easy-to-use image-sharing option.
