Canon filed a new patent in Japan. The new patent describes the EF-S 9-20mm f/4.5-5.6 wide-angle zoom lens designed for Canon DSLRs with APS-c image sensors.
From the patent application, we can say this lens looks very similar to the new EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens (see samples) which is also designed for APS-c DSLRs. If the patent becomes live in production, this 9-20mm lens will have a longer and wider zoom range than the 10-18mm.
