Tokina announced additional details abou the pricing & availability of their new AT-X 24-70 f/2.8 PRO FX full frame lens.
The Tokina AT-X PRO 24-70mm f/2.8 SD FX lens (Aspherical, IF, full frame) lens is a standard zoom lens designed for DSLR cameras with full frame image sensors. The lens was on-display at CP+ 2015 and at Photokina 2014.
The lens will be released in a Nikon mount in June and then for Canon in July. Retail price is listed at ¥150,000 before tax, which is around $1250 US, but it is not the final US pricing.

The standard zoom lens will offer a bright maximum aperture of f/2.8 that will be constant throughout the zoom range.
Tokina AT-X 24-70mm f/2.8 PRO FX lens will be a serious competitor against the other popular third party standart zoom lenses like the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 DI VC USD ($1,299) and the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG HSM ($824) lens.
The price for this lens in Japan is ¥150,000 before tax, which is around $1250 US.
