Sony is rumored to announce a replacement for the RX1-R which is expected to be called as the RX1-X.
Sony RX1-X which is also previously rumored as RX2, the premium compact camera is said to feature curved full-frame sensor and will be unveiled in the near future.
According to latest Sony rumors, the Company might announce both the Mark IV version of the RX100 compact camera (RX100M4) which will feature a Four Thirds image sensor and the Sony RX1-X which will replace the Sony RX1-R soon.
Next RX-Series Cameras Could be the Sony RX1-X and RX100M4
After the Sony RX1 released in 2012 and the RX1-R in 2013, now the RX1-X is said to become official in 2015. Even there are no specs revealed for the camera, RX1-X could be the first Sony full-frame camera featuring the new curved sensor. This also means it might be the previously rumored 48-50MP shooter with 35mm fixed lens.
Sony will hold a product launch event on April 23 during the 2015 World Photographer Awards event. It’s currently unclear if Sony will launch the RX1-X or/and the RX100m4 on the Sony World Photo Award event on April 23. Stay tuned!
